96 / 100 Robert Parker The 1976-Dom Perignon (Original Release) was a revelation. It showed the lightest color in this flight, which could have been taken as a clue. It showed unreal freshness and vibrancy, with soaring aromatics and notes of white peaches and jasmine. It was a totally seductive wine. In the Cellar May 2008
87 / 100 Wine Spectator A smooth, silky Champagne that's mature without being oxidized. Has floral and honey notes along with some tart pear and pie crust accents. A bit lighter than the '78, and terrific to drink now. http://www.winespectator.com/wine/detail/source/search/not..
17 / 20 Jancis Robinson Deep toasty gold with a hit of orange. Very toasty mandarin peel nose and only just sparkling with the merest hint of decay. Certainly very low acid. Quite burnt and toasty relative to most champagnes. Long and throat warming. Hint of mushrooms. It was a very interesting wine but tasted as though it was on the way down to me. http://www.jancisrobinson.com/tastings/search?keywords=Dom..
