94 / 100 Robert Parker A very powerful, concentrated Tertre Roteboeuf, but completely closed at present, this wine has a deep ruby/purple color, and a sweet nose of black cherry and plum jam intermixed with hints of vanilla, chocolate, and espresso roast. The wine is medium to full-bodied, quite tannic, powerful, and one of the more backward wines I have tasted at this estate. It requires much more cellaring than I originally anticipated. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2020. Last tasted, 12/02. Bordeaux Book, 4th Edition Jan 2003
91 / 100 Wine Spectator Lots of plum and hints of cedar and cigar box on the nose. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long, rich, beautiful finish. A wonderful wine. Delicious.--'95/'96 Bordeaux retrospective. http://www.winespectator.com/wine/detail/source/search/not..
17 / 20 Jancis Robinson Extremely dense and concentrated and only just coming out of its shell. Prunes but not raisins and lots of luscious dark fruit. Still quite a bit of tannin but no shortage of ripe tannins to counterbalance them. http://www.jancisrobinson.com/tastings/search?perpage=40&k..
