Fine example of the vintage, with clean fruit flavors, plenty of depth, great balance and a soothing array of fine bubbles. Drink now through 2001.

Slightly metallic, very closed aroma (more reserved than the 1995, for example). Tannic apple skins then relatively charmless. Not the weightiest. A bit skinny in fact. Quite fine.
