Smoky, toasty notes underline the peach and lemon fruit flavors in this broad white, which is a little shy on the finish, where spice accents reign. This should blossom with a little aging. Best from 2017 through 2024.

Even with extended aeration this remained quite firmly reduced and while the occasional whiff of oak and citrus sometimes reveal themselves, I was genuinely surprised by how pungent the reduction was as that's unusual for Ramonet; to be clear, some reduction is occasionally present in their wines but this isn't subtle. Otherwise there is solid density and punch to the attractively textured medium-bodied flavors that possess very fine complexity before terminating in a balanced, restrained and beautifully long finish. This may very well eventually clean up but I am concerned that as strong as the reduction is that it may be permanent. As such my score awards the benefit of the doubt in this regard.
