More than a trace of oak toast is evident on the nose with its clean, bright fruit and pronounced mineral notes. Oddly though for Chevalier, this lacks the same intensity and precision of the Clos des Caillerets though it does offer the same lovely purity and transparency of terroir. To be sure, this is a fine wine but I prefer the additional intensity of the Caillerets, especially for the substantial difference in price.
