This was a fabulous vintage chez Ente, and from magnum the 2011 Meursault Les Petits Charrons is superb, bursting from the glass with an expressive bouquet of citrus zest, preserved lemon, wheat toast and pear, framed by a light touch of reduction. On the palate, the wine is medium-full, sapid and intense, with a deep core, succulent acids and terrific tension through the long, lingering finish. While this is drinking beautifully already, it has the structure and energy to develop for another decade at the very least.

This parcel is by Grands Charrons and Chevaliers. Firm and rather ‘masculine’. A bit like Clos des Ambres but with extra density and acidity. Really something to chew on! Long term but with great richness underneath. Great finesse.

A restrained and distinctly cool nose features notes of lemon zest, spiced pear and Granny Smith apples. There is plenty of minerality to the almost delicate middle weight flavors that possess really lovely intensity before culminating in a pure, focused and beautifully well-balanced finish. An understated wine of finesse. This is also recommended.
