Tasted at the Grand Vin Masterclass in January 2010 Deep garnet colour. Quite a plumy / spicy nose giving aromas of cinnamon, cloves and mace plus a whiff of sweaty saddles A hint of cedar still poking through. Nicely structured with a backbone of high acidity and a medium to firm level of fine tannins. Long savoury / gamey finish.

Rich aromas of vanilla, chocolate and berry follow through to a full-bodied palate, with ultrafine tannins and a long, silky finish. Very fine indeed. Palmer shows power with finesse here. Best after 2007. 8,500 cases made.

Bright healthy crimson. Not much nose. Definitely solid. Not much sign of Margaux grace here. Was the extraction too enthusiastic? Rather drying finish. Not light but very angular and chewy.
